Union Pier, our beloved hamlet, is getting a facelift in 2021! Expect a new streetscape, with new sidewalks, planters, trees, and other plantings. Paved storefront patios will feature benches and be screened from Red Arrow Highway with landscaping.
The intersection of Union Pier Road and Red Arrow Highway also will be repaved and redesigned, with added turn lanes for easier business access. Pedestrians can use an activated crossing signal that flashes bright yellow lights to safely cross the highway.
And the first section of a ten-foot-wide non-motorized pathway will be built along the southwest corner of the highway and Union Pier Road. See gowightman.com for more information.
